Warm Sunny Week; Chilly Weekend

Beautiful weather continues to the end of the week. Morning fog dissipates to sunny warm days and cool nights. Clouds increase late Thursday on Friday in the wake of a mostly dry front. A shower or two are possible Friday night and Saturday morning before chilly dry air moves in for a seasonably cool weekend.

Forecast Discussion

Expansive high pressure covers the eastern U.S., stubbornly staying put for most of the week. This gives us mostly clear skies allowing for warming from the sun during the day and radiational cooling at night. This will likely be the last warm week until spring.

Clouds increase late Thursday and Friday ahead of an approaching front. It passes through late Friday with little fanfare other than a stray shower or two are possible overnight into Saturday morning. Dry chilly air moves in on Saturday. Skies clear but temperatures are much colder and winds are gusty during the weekend days.

Sunday and Monday mornings bring below freezing temperatures at high elevations. As winds die down, there is potential for frost on Monday morning.
